I'm laying out on the beach north of San Clemente pier enjoying the 78° winter weather. This may be my favorite city I've ever lived in to date. The center of SoCal's surf culture for the last 50 years...& it doesn't seem much has really changed. The retro postcards for sale outside of every boutique store on Avenida Del Mar look like they could've been taken yesterday. I think the locals know this hence why they've come to be so protective of this little surf town.
The Pacific Surfliner train hits its horn as it passes. Joggers running by on a damp dirt trail. Volleyball game coming down
to the wire next to the lifeguard station. A seemingly endless amount of beautiful people come in and out of my view. There
are about 10 or 11 surfers scattered in the ocean.
Glassy conditions but occasional swells around 5-6'.
Pelicans diving along with random dolphins basking in the sun. What more could you ever want...
